-Finland will return to Russia some Russian artwork works seized by Finnish customs, the nation’s international ministry stated on Friday.
Finnish customs had stopped three shipments of artwork works value round 42 million euros ($46 million) to verify whether or not they have been classed as luxurious items and have been subsequently topic to financial sanctions.
Exceptions for cultural artefacts within the European Union sanction guidelines will turn out to be efficient on April 9, after which the international ministry will grant customs officers permission to launch the artwork works, the ministry stated.
The work, statues and antiques had been on mortgage from Russian museums in Italy and Japan.
Russian Tradition Minister Olga Lyubimova earlier stated the work would return to Russia on the weekend.
