Vancouver Police are looking for witnesses to the weekend’s crash

Significant debris, including a mirror in the driver’s side, was left behind

VANCOUVER Police on Saturday night are investigating a serious collision near Science World, which left a pedestrian with serious and life-changing injuries.

“This victim suffered significant trauma and is likely to take months to recover,” Sgt. Steve Addison on Wednesday. ‘Although the driver failed to stop and provide assistance, we believe there were a number of witnesses and persons with information who could help us find the person responsible. We ask them to come forward now. “

The victim, a 32-year-old woman, crossed Quebec Street off Central Street around 6 p.m. 22:20 on November 27, when she was hit by a vehicle heading south. Although the driver fled, significant debris, including a mirror from the driver’s side, was left on the road.

“Based on the evidence from the crime scene and information from eyewitnesses, we believe the vehicle was likely a gray Audi S4 or S5 built between 2009 and 2012,” Addison said. “We are convinced that it is only a matter of time before we locate the vehicle and identify the driver, so there is still time for the person in charge to do the right thing and step forward.”

Police are asking anyone living near Science World, Yaletown or Olympic Village to check the security cameras of their home and contact police if they have video of the suspect vehicle. Eyewitnesses, anyone with information or drivers with dash-cam video are also asked to line up.

Anyone with information can contact VPD’s Hit and Run device at 604-717-9360.
