ENGENE – An Amber Alert was issued Friday for a young child abducted from Los Angeles, and the California Highway Patrol says the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
Catalina Reyes Canino, 23 months old, was last seen with her father, Leonardo Rosales, 26, around 10:45 p.m. on Dec. 23 near the intersection of South Reno Street and Beverly Boulevard.
Police noted that Rosales has no custody of Catalina.
The child’s mother told the Los Angeles Police Department that she has had an ongoing dispute over custody with her ex-boyfriend, Rosales, Catalina’s father, and that there is a restraining order against Leonardo.
The mother said Rosales showed up at her residence with two more male suspects.
Rosales allegedly forced his way into the residence and threatened the family while armed with a knife, the LAPD said.
He forcibly removed the child and fled in a gray Honda Accord with an unknown license plate.
According to the CHP, Rosales should be considered armed and dangerous.
