Winter Travel Advice for the Hamilton Area: Environment Canada – Hamilton

Environment Canada has updated a winter weather guide for the Hamilton area.

The first snowfall of the season, which began just after 7pm on Saturday, continues to and from all Sunday and falls between three and six inches of snow. Areas above higher terrain could see more.

“Motorists should expect dangerous winter driving conditions and adjust their travel plans accordingly,” the agency said in its statement.

“Bad weather conditions can contribute to transport delays. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and keep a safe following distance. Surfaces such as motorways, roads, footbridges and car parks can become icy and slippery. “

Hamilton’s general weather forecast for Sunday calls for periods of snow and a temperature of only 2C. The lowest is expected to hit -6C.

The city could see its second wave of snow Monday night to Tuesday morning.
