MORE than 5,000 crimes are going unsolved every single day, new figures reveal.
And only one in 20 crime reviews ends with a suspect being charged.
The damning statistics, which present thousands and thousands of victims are being denied justice, led to MPs accusing the Authorities of being “asleep on the wheel” on tackling crime.
In all, 1.47million prison instances have been closed by police with out a suspect being recognized between January and September 2022.
That equates to five,378 offences going unsolved each day in England and Wales.
