Kim Kardashian thinks her storytelling helped Donald Trump “open his coronary heart” to felony justice reform.
The truth star-turned-aspiring lawyer talked about her advocacy with CNN’s Poppy Harlow on the TIME 100 Summit in New York on Wednesday.
On stage, Kardashian defined how she was capable of soften Trump’s stance on crime after assembly him in 2018 to advocate for the discharge of inmate Alice Marie Johnson.
She advised Harlow how the president started to know prisoners’ hardships “as soon as he began to listen to these tales as an alternative of simply listening to the circumstances.”
“He went in being so pro-death penalty, and actually exhausting on crime, to opening up his coronary heart and realizing that so many individuals are inside that don’t need to be and have fully rehabilitated themselves,” Kardashian mentioned.
The star credited herself for convincing Trump to signal the First Step Act in 2018, saying, “Nearly 30,000 folks have been set free due to the story telling of 1 lady that modified his thoughts.”
