Dutch regulator grants Russian independent TV Rain five-year broadcasting license

– The Dutch Media Authority issued a five-year broadcasting allow for the Russian unbiased tv station TV Rain after its license had been cancelled in Latvia, based on an announcement on the regulator’s web site.

The allow, dated Dec. 22, will “present a business tv broadcasting service as a business media establishment,” the regulator stated. It was not instantly clear when the assertion was printed.

Latvia cancelled the licence of TV Rain in early December after the corporate was branded a risk to nationwide safety.

The liberal-leaning TV Rain, or Dozhd, shifted to broadcasting from Latvia and different international locations in July, after being compelled to close its Moscow studio following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
