Shares in French TV company M6 soar on takeover offers

PARIS – Shares in M6, the French tv unit German media large Bertelsmann has put up on the market, rallied on Monday after reviews that preliminary presents by bidders had been filed.

Shares in M6 opened round 10% greater on the Paris inventory market and have been up 6.4%, at round 15 euros, at 0714 GMT.

Bloomberg Information reported on Sunday French media mogul Stephane Courbit and his investor companions are mentioned to have supplied 20 euros ($19) a share.

Reuters on Friday reported a consortium of high-profile French entrepreneurs together with billionaire Rodolphe Saade, Courbit of TV manufacturing group Banijay and investor Marc Ladreit de Lacharriere was in pole place to clinch a deal.

Italian broadcaster MediaForEurope, in the meantime, joined forces with French billionaire Xavier Niel with a view to a rival bid.
