VATICANCITY – Pope Francis will go to predominantly Muslim Bahrain Nov. 3-6 to attend a global convention, the Vatican introduced on Wednesday.
The Vatican stated the pope would go to the Gulf island nation off the Arabian peninsula to participate within the Bahrain Discussion board for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence.
In 2019, Francis visited Abu Dhabi within the United Arab Emirates, the primary pontiff to go to the Arabian peninsula and say a Mass there.
Bahrain is about 70% Muslim and, not like Saudi Arabia, permits the small Christian neighborhood – made up largely of international staff – to observe their religion publicly within the two church buildings there.
Vatican officers first introduced the journey to Bahrain on the flight again from the pope’s journey to Kazakhstan earlier this month however didn't give the dates.
Wednesday’s announcement gave no particulars of the programme.
