European stock index futures tumble on extended Nord Stream 1 closure

– European inventory index futures slid greater than 3% on Monday after Russia prolonged a halt to the Nord Stream 1 gasoline pipeline to Europe, including to fears of winter gasoline shortages.

The EUROSTOXX 50 index futures slumped 3.2%, whereas Germany’s DAX futures tumbled 3.4%.

The Kremlin blamed European politicians on Sunday for protecting the key gasoline pipeline shut, saying their financial sanctions on Russia had hindered Gazprom’s upkeep of the pipeline.

Gazprom introduced on Friday that the primary pipeline to Germany would stay closed indefinitely, towards expectations of a restart on Saturday after three days of upkeep work.
