BERLIN – The U.S. Central Intelligence Company (CIA) had weeks in the past warned Germany about attainable assaults on gasoline pipelines within the Baltic Sea, German journal Spiegel mentioned on Tuesday, after gasoline leaks in Russia pipelines to Germany have been reported.
The German authorities obtained the CIA tip in summer season, Spiegel reported, citing unnamed sources, including that Berlin assumes a focused assault on Nord Stream 1 and a pair of pipelines.
A German authorities spokesperson declined to remark, Spiegel added.
