UK government's 'anti-corruption champion' quits, will oppose Johnson

LONDON – Britain’s ‘anti-corruption champion’, lawmaker John Penrose, resigned from his position in authorities on Monday saying he would vote towards Prime Minister Boris Johnson in a confidence vote later within the day.

“I’m sorry to should resign because the PM’s Anti-Corruption Tsar however, after his reply final week in regards to the Ministerial Code, it’s fairly clear he has damaged it,” he stated on Twitter.

“That’s a resigning matter for me, and it needs to be for the PM too.”
