The woden is getting a whole lot more greasy.

Grease Monkey, which has already been widely recognized for its restaurants in Braddon and Gungahlin and its food truck, ‘The Pitts’ in Phillip, has found a more permanent home to the south in the Westfield Woden Bradley Street dining area.

The new store opens on Sunday (December 12) from 11 a.m. and 500 free Greasy burgers will be handed out to celebrate this occasion.

All of the old Greasy favorites will be on the Woden menu: Greasy’s burgers, fried chicken, wings and Detroit-style pizzas, as well as its selection of cocktails and craft beers.

Grease Monkey Director Nick Tuckwell said the permanent home recognized the South Side’s long-term support for the food truck.

“Our food truck has been set up at The Pitts for the last two years, and the Woden community has come right behind us, so it’s great that we can now open the doors to a permanent store,” Mr Tuckwell said.

“The last few years have been really challenging for the Canberra food scene and we would like to thank everyone who has supported us. We are really proud that we have been able to continue our plans to expand and open more Greasies and ACT. “

The Pitts will remain open for a short period after the Woden restaurant opens before moving to a new location in Kingston in the new year.
