The Prince Edward Island RCMP warns the public to avoid the Brush Wharf Road area of Orwell Cove due to a major structural fire.
The fire is located at Atlantic Aqua Farms, a seafood business in the area.
The Ministry of Public Security says the fire is still active and the fire department is on the scene.
“The responding fire departments include Belfast, Crossroads and Vernon River. They were also supported by Charlottetown Fire (Station 2), Iceland EMS and RCMP. a statement to CBC News from the Department of Public Safety.
Atlantic Aqua Farms markets PEI mussels, oysters and mussels throughout North America.
Donald McRae, the owner of a truck and backhoe loader, offers help at the scene.
“There’s a bunch of firefighters here,” McRae said. “I also brought some heavy machinery to help fight the fire.”
More details about the fire are expected soon.
