Victoria COVID cases rise again on Friday with seven more deaths also recorded

Victoria’s COVID-19 case is still rising and the state has recorded its largest daily increase in three weeks.

On Thursday, the National Board of Health confirmed that it had been 1362 cases for 24 hours until midnight.

There were also seven more COVID-related deaths.

Hospital admissions in the state remain stable at 308, of which 46 are in the intensive care unit and 26 in the respirator.

Victoria passed a major vaccination threshold on Thursday, with more than 90 percent of all people over 12 now fully vaccinated.

1254 cases were registered on Thursday, 1196 on Wednesday, 827 on Tuesday and 1029 on Monday.

Friday is the highest case day since 1471 cases were registered on November 1st.

The vaccine deadline hits

About one million Victorian workers must now be fully vaccinated to continue working after a major vaccination deadline went overnight.

All those in jobs on the state-authorized worker list should have two doses of a COVID-19 vaccination by Friday, November 26th.

Industries on the list include the AFL and other professional athletes, lawyers, journalists, miners, court staff and personal trainers.

This comes as the Services Vic app is updated so parents and guardians can add their children’s vaccination certificates.

Previously, parents had to carry transcripts to prove that children under 14 had been vaccinated to attend places such as unnecessary retail stores and events.

But the app now allows you to add relatives so a child’s digital vaccination certificate can be included with their parents’ or guardian’s.

Nurses will also be able to add a child certificate to their app as long as they have access to the child’s Medicare account.

Young people over the age of 14 can create their own Medicare accounts and can therefore share their digital certificate on the Services Vic app in the same way as adults.
