It’s starting to look like a LOT of Christmas, Canberra.
Despite the last few weeks’ rainy weather forecast, pockets of Christmas cheer are starting to appear around the city.
But festive celebrations are not the only thing happening this week around the city (though yes, there are many!). You can also watch a movie under the stars, enjoy a Mexican fiesta and be a part of Canberra’s biggest water fight!

Mexican Fiesta Night at The Tradies

Beat cybercrime in your downtime Small Business Breakfast
The Australian government is launching a set of free resources to enable even the smallest businesses to be more secure online.
The morning will feature a panel discussion hosted by Council Of Small Business Organizations Australia CEO Alexi Boyd followed by the national premiere of the Beat Cybercrime in Your Downtime seminar package, which is part of the free material launched for public use on cyber.gov.au .
All owners and employees of small and medium-sized businesses are invited to participate.
Government officials will be on hand to provide assistance and support, and the morning will end with time to network with other small businesses, community leaders and representatives from some of the largest companies in Australia.
It is free to attend and a light breakfast will be served.

The great water fight in Haig Park
The Great Haig Park Water Fight is here. Divided into two fun sessions from kl. 13.00-15.00 and 15.00-17.00 the water fight will be decided over different games.
Red light / green light: Be the first to reach the finish line while referee Jim is not looking. If he catches you moving, you’re out and soaked!
Castle Wars: Bring down the castle castles with your water pistols and mushrooms. Do not touch the boxes, but you can soak them!
Catch the flag: Take the glory home and catch the flag from the other team’s base.
Mini-Olympics: Are You Australia’s Next Ariarne Titmus? Against the water and the obstacles, and try to complete the obstacle course as quickly as possible.
Bring: yourself and your friends, a picnic, a water gun and don’t forget a towel!
The Soul Defender will play music all day, and The Italian Place Providore & Bottega will have a pop-up booth featuring a gourmet spread of delicacies that can be added to your picnic, delicious coffee available through the coffee cart, and drinks available from BentSpoke Brewing Co.

With Christmas just around the corner, Haig Park Village Markets will get Braddon in a festive mood with their very own Christmas Village Markets throughout December, with cheerful theme market days on 5, 12 and 19 December 2021 from 6 p.m. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Whether it’s meeting Santa, having a relaxing drink and picnic with loved ones or shopping for the perfect gift from local Canberra producers, they’ve got you covered.
Imagine a summer party with drinks, live Christmas songs, string quartets and Christmas-themed market stalls that combine to delight your senses. Culinary delicacies from the region, fresh ingredients, handicrafts, handmade jewelry, Christmas decorations and much more – all set the stage for a festive Christmas experience among the pine trees in Haig Park.

Dancing on the street
Join the parade! Friday and Saturday nights come alive up to Christmas with wandering performances around Civic and Braddon.
While enjoying a meal at one of Sydney’s and Melbourne’s many restaurants on Friday night or in Braddon on Saturdays, keep an eye on the streets for a Latin Christmas samba parade, Christmas angels and other Christmas moods. Their dancers will include Liz Lea, Little Dove Performers and Flazeda.
