Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) slammed Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) over her protection of Jake Teixeira, the 21-year-old Massachusetts Air Nationwide Guardsman suspected of leaking labeled Pentagon paperwork on Discord.
Graham, in an interview with ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday, took purpose at conservatives’ makes an attempt to “sugarcoat” the leak.
His feedback observe Greene’s tweet on Thursday asking who the “actual enemy” is between the suspect and the Biden administration because it helps Ukraine in its struggle with Russia.
“You can't permit a single particular person of the navy intelligence neighborhood to leak labeled info as a result of they disagree with coverage,” Graham advised Jonathan Karl. “What they’re suggesting will destroy America’s skill to defend itself. That it’s OK to launch labeled info primarily based in your political beliefs. That the ends justify the means. It's not OK.”
Graham’s criticism of Greene comes after plenty of Democrats and Republicans ― together with former CIA Director John Brennan ― condemned the Georgia Republican for her feedback.
Graham later declared that Greene had been “irresponsible” for her take.
“There isn't a justification for this,” he added. “And for any member of Congress to counsel it’s OK to leak labeled info since you agree with the trigger is very irresponsible. And places America in severe hazard.”
Greene afterward Sunday shared a doctored picture of Graham holding a Bud Mild can that includes the face of influencer Dylan Mulvaney, a nod to the conservative backlash in opposition to the model after it partnered with the transgender social media star for a web-based promotion.
