A BRITISH man killed in Ukraine has been described as a "hero" by his household.

Paramedic Jonathan Shenkin, from Glasgow, is the eighth particular person from the UK recognized to have died within the war-torn nation since Russia invaded.

In a social media submit, the 45-year-old's household mentioned he "made the final word sacrifice" by standing as much as Vladimir Putin's troops in Ukraine.

They mentioned the dad "died as a hero in an act of bravery as a paramedic" in December.

A tribute shared by his brother Daniel Shenkin mentioned: "On enlisting within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he made the final word sacrifice to defend values all of us consider in.

"He's survived by his son and daughter, to whom he was devoted."

Mr Skenkin's brother informed how he had spent "a lot of his life serving to others" after rising up in Glasgow.

He briefly lived in London and Malta earlier than signing up for the Israeli Military.

Mr Shenkin later ran his personal safety enterprise, which included missions in Iraq, Afghanistan, Oman and Somalia.
