Dutch authorities arrest protesters after climate activists blocked road near The Hague

Tons of of local weather activists blocked one of many most important roads into The Hague on Saturday, defying earlier makes an attempt to forestall their protest.

Most of the demonstrators waved colored flags with the image of the environmental group Extinction Rise up. And one protester held an indication saying, in Dutch, “This can be a dead-end street.”

The group gathered on the A12 street close to the momentary dwelling of the Dutch parliament.

About an hour after the blockade started, officers started arresting protesters who refused to go away the street.

Earlier this week, authorities detained six Extinction Rise up activists on suspicion of sedition linked to calls to stage the protest.

A choose on Friday upheld an order banning one other activist from the world for 90 days.

The arrests and exclusion order sparked unrest amongst activists who argue it infringes their proper to peaceable protest.
