Austin Butler Remembers Lisa Marie Presley's 'Warmth,' 'Love' And 'Authenticity'

“Elvis” star Austin Butler paid tribute to the late Lisa Marie Presley on Friday with an emotional assertion about her dying.

“I'm eternally grateful for the time I used to be fortunate sufficient to be close to her vibrant mild and can perpetually cherish the quiet moments we shared,” the actor advised Individuals. “Her heat, her love and her authenticity will at all times be remembered.”

Presley died Thursday on the age of 54 after being rushed to the hospital for cardiac arrest. Two nights earlier than, the singer had attended the Golden Globe Awards and watched Butler win finest actor in a drama for his portrayal of her father, music legend Elvis Presley.

Lisa Marie Presley had repeatedly praised Butler’s efficiency within the Baz Luhrmann-directed biopic. In Could, she mentioned on Instagram that Butler had “channeled and embodied my father’s coronary heart and soul fantastically.” She added, “If he doesn’t get an Oscar for this, I'll eat my very own foot, haha.”

Butler advised Individuals his “coronary heart is totally shattered” for Presley’s household following her “tragic and sudden loss.” She is survived by her mom, Priscilla Presley, and three of her youngsters, together with actor Riley Keough. Benjamin Keough, her son, died in 2020.

On the Golden Globe Awards, Butler had thanked the household for “opening your hearts, your reminiscences, your own home to me.” He added, “Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I like you perpetually.”
