BUCHAREST – Romania is keen to proceed supplying neighbouring Moldova with electrical energy as Russian shelling in Ukraine hits its power provide, however inadequate interconnections are a problem, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis mentioned on Thursday.
“Up till now we've got delivered every part we had been requested for,” Iohannis advised reporters after assembly Lithuania’s president in Vilnius. “However outages occur as a result of … Romanian-Moldovan interconnections are fully inadequate. Many of the energy Romania is providing passes via Ukraine.”
Romanian energy producers began promoting electrical energy to Moldova at a capped value in October. Overseas Minister Bogdan Aurescu mentioned earlier this week the European Union state was offering between 80% and 90% of Moldova’s electrical energy wants.
