Conservators in Iraq carry out major restoration project to save centuries-old manuscripts

Conservators in Iraq's Nationwide Museum are finishing up a significant restoration mission in an effort to protect and digitise 47,000 manuscripts. 

The Home of Manuscripts' assortment consists of texts written in Arabic, Persian and Hebrew -- and a few are mentioned up to now again nearly 1,000 years.

In a rustic that bears the scars of many years of battle and has seen antiquities and cultural heritage recurrently plundered, the Home of Manuscripts' assortment has managed to outlive.
