ROGERS CITY, Mich. (AP) — The election to fill a metropolis council seat in a Michigan city was settled by drawing two items of paper from a bowl, days after a 616-616 tie.

The brand new council member in Rogers Metropolis: Timeen Adair, whose paper mentioned “elected.”

Brittany VanderWall’s paper mentioned “not elected.” There have been hugs by the pair Monday — and no onerous emotions, The Alpena Information reported.

“I informed individuals, both means, Rogers Metropolis wins,” VanderWall mentioned earlier than the drawing.

Adair mentioned the Election Day tie meant the northern Michigan city, inhabitants 2,800, ought to be happy with each candidates.

VanderWall is already waiting for the following election.
