Vincent Van Gogh exhibit in Rome shows famous self-portrait in new light

A well-known self-portrait by Vincent Van Gogh is on show outdoors of his house nation for the primary time since its restoration.

In 2020, a yellow varnish was faraway from the portray that had muted its unique colors.

Now the portray, together with 49 others by the Dutch painter, may be seen for a restricted time in Rome in Palazzo Bonaparte, a Seventeenth-century mansion as soon as house to Napoleon's mom. 

“We try... to inform Van Gogh's story in its entirety, ranging from the primary works that he made in 1881. That is when he determined that he wished to be a painter, realised that that was his path and began working,” stated Francesca Villanti, the curator of the exhibition.

Alongside his celebrated self-portrait, the exhibition will embody 'The Sower' (June 1888), 'The Hospital Backyard in Saint-Rémy' (1889), 'The Ravine' (1889) and 'Sorrowing Outdated Man' (1890) -- painted two months earlier than Van Gogh's suicide.

The artworks are on mortgage from the celebrated Kröller Müller Museum in Otterlo, which has the world's second-largest assortment of Van Gogh work,

The museum was accountable for the restoration of the self-portrait.

Van Gogh was born in 1853 and solely painted for a brief interval between 1881 and 1890.

The exhibit comes solely months after the a hundred and seventieth anniversary of his beginning on 30 March. It is going to run till 26 March.
