Athletics-Ujah will be considered for selection after doping ban - UK Athletics director

– UK Athletics technical director Stephen Maguire stated Chijindu Ujah shall be thought-about for choice after his 22-month doping ban expires however added that it might be arduous for the sprinter to return to Britain’s 4×100m group.

Ujah was provisionally suspended after prohibited substances Ostarine and S-23 have been detected in his A and B samples following the lads’s 4×100m relay last ultimately 12 months’s Tokyo Olympics.

Ujah and his group mates have been stripped of their silver medal in February.

Earlier this week, the Athletics Integrity Unit cleared Ujah of deliberately taking the substances and issued the ban, which shall be in pressure till June 5 2023.

“If (Ujah) is on the market to compete we'll choose him,” Maguire instructed British media on Thursday. “I haven’t spoken to CJ in a few years. He made a mistake and that’s clear, I must see what the surroundings is like.”
