Swiss police find 23 migrants crammed into delivery van near Lucerne

Police in Switzerland have discovered 23 migrants packed into the again of a supply van throughout a routine visitors cease.

The Italian-registered car was stopped early on Monday morning close to the central metropolis of Lucerne.

Officers discovered the migrants standing, crammed into the windowless cargo space of the van. Police mentioned that they had been shut within the van for a number of hours with out a break.

The migrants have been aged between 20 and 50 and have been from Afghanistan, India, Syria and Bangladesh, police mentioned in a press release.

The group reportedly wished to journey to European nations past Switzerland.

The driving force, a 27-year-old Gambian man who lives in Italy, was arrested and faces an investigation on suspicion of human trafficking.
