One dead in clashes between Taliban, Iran border forces, Afghan police official says

KABUL – Clashes between Taliban forces and Iran border guards on Sunday have left at the least one useless on the Afghanistan facet, an Afghan police official stated.

“We have now one killed and one wounded; the reason for the conflict just isn't clear but,” the police spokesman of the southern Afghan province of Nimroze, Bahram Haqmal, instructed Reuters.

Maysam Barazandeh,  the governor of the Iranian border space of Hirmand, was quoted by the semi-official information company Fars as saying the clashes had stopped and there have been no casualties.

Iran’s Tasnim information company stated clashes broke out after Taliban forces tried to lift their flag “in an space which isn't Afghan territory”.

Native sources instructed Reuters that individuals residing close to the border on the Afghan facet fled their properties to take cowl when the clashes intensified.

Since taking on Afghanistan a 12 months in the past, Taliban forces have steadily clashed with safety forces of Iran, which neighbours the nation to the west, in addition to Pakistan, which neighbours it to the east.
