Biden welcomes Yemen truce extension, notes Saudi Arabia's 'courageous leadership'

WASHINGTON – U.S. President Joe Biden welcomed the extension on Thursday of a U.N.-brokered truce between Yemen’s combatants, and stated Saudi Arabia had demonstrated “brave management” by endorsing and implementing its phrases.

“The final two months in Yemen, because of the truce brokered in April, have been among the many most peaceable intervals since this horrible warfare started seven years in the past,” Biden stated in an announcement.

Biden stated Oman, Egypt and Jordan had performed roles in enabling the truce course of. “The USA will stay engaged on this course of over the approaching weeks and months” and is concentrated on deterring threats to its pals and companions, Biden added.
