World's oldest person dies in Japan aged 119

TOKYO – A Japanese lady believed to have been the world’s oldest individual has died aged 119, public broadcaster NHK stated on Monday, reporting the dying of Kane Tanaka.

Born on Jan. 2, 1903 – the yr of the Wright Brothers’ first managed flight of their motor-driven airplane – Tanaka was confirmed by Guinness World Information in 2019 because the oldest dwelling individual.

She died of outdated age at a hospital in Fukuoka metropolis, western Japan, on April 19, NHK stated. Throughout her life, she had been a fan of chocolate and fizzy drinks, NHK stated.
