Italian judge accepts Autostrade settlement over 2018 bridge collapse

GENOA – A decide has accepted a settlement settlement with Italian firms Autostrade per l’Italia and Spea over the lethal collapse of a bridge in Genoa, authorized and judicial sources stated on Thursday.

The highway bridge, operated by Atlantia’s motorway unit Autostrade, collapsed within the port metropolis on Aug. 14, 2018, killing 43 folks and laying naked the dire state of Italy’s crumbling infrastructure.

Autostrade had supplied to pay 1 million euros ($1.09 million) as a settlement and 26 million euros in compensation to the Italian state for the case, whereas sister firm SPEA had proposed to pay 810,000 euros to settle.
