Seth Meyers has had it with Donald Trump supporters’ “insane mythology” that the ex-president would have stopped Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
On Thursday’s “Late Night time,” the host devoted a complete phase to displaying how Republicans’ claims are “unmoored from actuality.” (Watch the video under.)
After a clip of Home Republican chief Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) criticizing Biden for not performing earlier on Ukraine’s protection, a pissed off Meyers snapped: “You’re saying Biden is the one who ought to have been giving assist to Ukraine sooner? The man you supported tried to extort Ukraine like a mob boss counting singles within the again room of a strip membership.”
Meyers was, in fact, referring to then-President Trump trying to strong-arm Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy into offering dust on Biden’s household in trade for important U.S. navy assist ― a dialogue that led to Trump’s first impeachment.
