Russian action in Ukraine may be precursor to invasion, UK PM's spokesman says

LONDON – Russia’s choice to formally recognise two breakaway areas of Ukraine and ship troops there could also be a precursor to invasion, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s spokesman stated on Tuesday.

Britain welcomed Germany’s choice to halt the certification of the Nord Stream 2 gasoline pipeline, the spokesman stated.

“We consider that Russia’s actions in a single day might properly be a precursor to a full-scale invasion, however clearly we need to proceed to pursue any diplomatic avenues that exist, and we’ll be talking to different world leaders,” the spokesman stated.
