Academy Park High School on lockdown after student brings gun to Pennsylvania campus as kid in custody

POLICE in Philadelphia rushed to an area highschool after a pupil introduced a gun on campus.

Academy Park Excessive Faculty in Sharon Hill, Delaware County, was positioned on lockdown on Friday morning as police looked for an armed pupil on campus.

Delaware County District Legal professional Jack Stollsteimer mentioned a pupil introduced "what appears to be a firearm" to highschool and posted about it on social media.

Authorities say the submit didn't seem to incorporate a selected risk.

A juvenile was taken into custody with out incident, and a weapon was recovered from a classroom.

Video from the scene confirmed a SWAT workforce on the college grounds helping native officers.

Dozens of emergency and police automobiles surrounded the college.

Some police automobiles had been seen parked on the entrance entrance of the college.

After a heavy police response, officers mentioned the state of affairs at the highschool was now “underneath management” about an hour after the lockdown.

There have been no accidents to college students or facility members in the course of the incident.

Officers don't consider the gun was ever discharged.

Academy Park is the one highschool within the Southeast Delco Faculty District.
