Apple is reportedly in exclusive negotiations to acquire an unnamed racing drama pitch that will see Brad Pitt play the lead role for the team behind “Top Gun: Maverick” – namely director Joseph Kosinski, author Ehren Kruger and producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

In the film, Pitt will play a retired racing legend who mentors a younger driver and takes his final blow on honor on the track as the younger driver’s teammate. British Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton is involved, but the Formula 1 race itself is not officially involved yet.

The package is reportedly in the price range of around $ 140 million, and that is before compensation across the line. Pitt and Kosinski previously tried to make the racing movie “Go Like Hell,” which would have seen Pitt play Carroll Shelby.

It marks the second major Pitt project Apple has snatched, and the second is an unnamed project that sees him resume the team with George Clooney and director Jon Watts (“Spider-Man: No Way Home”) as two lone wolves’ fixers ‘ assigned. for the same job.

Apple appears to have beaten six big suitors who also competed for the project – namely Paramount, MGM, Sony, Universal, Netflix and Amazon.
