Barcelona are reportedly looking for Manchester City midfielder Aymeric Laporte.

City manager Pep Guardiola has a habit of rotating his four backs, and the 27-year-old has had to play second fiddle for John Stones in incantations at the Etihad.

Laporte appear to have joined forces with Ruben Dias this season, but Barcelona are circling and they are keen to reunite him with former City defender Eric Garcia, according to The sun.

The report claims that Barcelona are aiming to get their fingers in more money in order to make a bid for the summer.

Laporte’s contract at City does not expire until the summer of 2025, and the club would reportedly demand at least the £ 57 million they spent on taking him from Athletic Bilbao three years ago.

The Catalan giants are in financial trouble after accumulating over £ 1 billion in debt, in part due to the devastating effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

LaLiga clothing managed to buy City striker Ferran Torres for £ 55 million this week as they needed to strengthen their attack following Sergio Aguero’s retirement.

They were able to pick him up thanks to a £ 508m loan they secured from Goldman Sachs.

Barca will have to pay the exorbitant fee over 35 years, with a five-year grace period to help restructure their finances.

Garcia re-signed for the club on a free transfer last summer and he has played 17 games for his childhood team this season.
