Part of the Trans-Canada Highway on the west coast is expected to reopen Monday after last week’s leaches.
The province says some repairs have been completed and that the highway will reopen north of Little Paradise Park, with traffic reduced to one lane in some areas. An update is expected on Monday at
Motorists are reminded to obey traffic controls and keep an eye on heavy equipment and crew working in the area.
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure says it expects areas near Port aux Basques and at Little Paradise Park to reopen to traffic by mid-week.
While the repairs continue, the public is asked to follow the advice and instructions of the emergency authorities and stay away from the damaged areas.
Officials say this will allow crews to finish their work and reopen the highway more quickly.
