Reports from Spain have credited Manchester United with an interest in Frenkie de Jong.
De Jong’s Barcelona stay
Frenkie de Jong would sign for FC Barcelona back in the summer of 2019.
The Spanish powerhouse is believed to have paid around £ 77 million to bring the midfielder to the Camp Nou following a major campaign in which he helped Ajax reach the Champions League semi-finals.
Since his move to Catalonia, however, De Jong has struggled to show the abilities that made him such a desirable asset for Barcelona in the first place.
However, not all the blame can be placed on De Jong for this, where Barcelona as a club is experiencing something of a crisis, where La Blaugrana is now on their 3.rd permanent manager since De Jong joined the club.
Manchester United look at De Jong
Despite his struggles in Catalonia, De Jong apparently still attracts attention from a top European side.
That team is, according to the Daily Mail, citing reports in Spain, Manchester United. The report from the Danish Championships claims that the Red Devils are considering De Jong as a replacement for Paul Pogba.

Pogba’s second stay in Manchester has been pretty poor, with the midfielder struggling for any kind of consistently positive views.
And to make matters worse, Pogba is out of contract this summer, meaning United are currently ready to lose him on a free transfer – unless they sell him in January or get him to sign a new deal.
As for a potential fee to De Jong, the Mail claims that Barcelona will have £ 75 million for the Dutchman. Could De Jong be the central midfielder Man United have clearly needed for some time now?
