Ant and Dec mock Boris Johnson’s ‘forgive me’ speech moment on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! | Ents & Arts News

I’m A Celebrity presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have mocked the Prime Minister for his awkward headline-giving speech to business leaders.

The duo referenced Boris Johnson‘s speech under a link in Monday night’s episode of the hit series, which was launched the previous night with celebrities including Frankie Bridge from The Saturdays, TV host Richard Madeley and football star David Ginola.

Earlier in the day, Mr Johnson had given the now very ridiculous speech to the Confederation of British Industry in South Shields – near Newcastle, Ant and dechometown – refers to a day trip to a Peppa Pig amusement park and makes car noise.

Prime Minister loses seat in speech, uses Peppa Pig joke

Part of the way through there was an awkward silence as the Prime Minister seemed to lose his seat and was left with mixed sheets. He mumbled “blow it” before saying “forgive me” to the crowd.

Later I’m a celebrity, which performs live from Gwrych Castle in North Wales, McPartlin asked his co-host, where they had bought a cake that was part of a challenge.

By flipping through sheets of paper for more than 10 seconds, Donnelly seemed confused and said “forgive me!” repeatedly – until we finally found the right page and exclaimed, “We got it in Poundland in Rhyl.”

A clip of the link was shared by an Ant and Dec support account on Twitter.

In 2017, Mr. Johnson’s father, Stanley, appeared in the 17th series of the show and finished in seventh place.

Monday night’s episode saw French football star Ginola also open up to his camp mates about how he survived a heart attack.

The 54-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest during a charity match in France in 2016 and received CPR on the pitch by footballer Frederic Mendy.

“Just play football and at some point you just fall to the floor,” he said. “So they have to perform CPR for 12 minutes and they arrive with the defibrillator and they shocked me, once, twice, three times.

“They said, ‘I think your friend is dead.’ A fourth, fifth time. The fifth time, a heartbeat.

“The surgeon said, ‘you have been very lucky, David, it’s a miracle. In your condition, nine out of 10 would be dead’.

“When you come back from it, you just have your mind filled with questions. Is that a message? Am I going back for another life with a purpose?

“For when you fight, when you are dead, you are at a crossroads. There is life and death.”

The participants in this year’s series are currently divided into two groups, with half living in the castle and the others in the cells below, with basic facilities and limited rations.
